About me
Rebecca Nakagawa, IUSD’s K-12 ELA Coordinator, with her phenomenal teammates (Deanna Rutter, Blair Pador, Natalie Hanks, Melinda Glowaski, Lauren Linzmeier, Nikkita Fox, and Kim Farag) believe in equity and empowerment through literacy instruction. Their vision for IUSD focuses on all students leaving the district with a love of reading and developing literacy skills in reading, writing, and speaking & listening. Rebecca holds an Ed.D. in K-12 Leadership in Urban School Settings from the University of Southern California's Rossier School of Education, where her dissertation focused on teacher differentiated curriculum choices and their effect on gifted students' self-perceptions under the guidance of Dr. Sandra Kaplan. Additionally, Rebecca Nakagawa has a Master's degree in Education with an emphasis in Psychology from Pepperdine University, where her thesis explored the cognitive process of reading comprehension. She also holds a Teaching Credential from the University of California, Irvine, and a B.A. in Psychology and Social Behavior.
